Who Are We?
2nd Chelmsford Scout Group, is based in Lawn Lane, Chelmsford, Essex and is home to a Beaver Colony, two Cub Packs (Bishops and Lyons) and two Scout Troops (Dukes and Lyons) as well as being closely linked to Komodo Explorer Scout Unit. All Sections within 2nd Chelmsford are made up from both Male and Female members.

Beaver Scouts
Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. Our Beaver Colony also organises sleepovers, giving the young people their first taste of the Scout Camp Experience

Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts are usually aged between 8 and 10½, although they may join 6 months prior to their 8th birthday and may remain until their 11th birthday to ensure they are not seperated from friends. Cub Scouts enjoy playing games, doing craft activities and going out on visits as well as more adventurous activities such as climbing. Both of the Cub Packs at 2nd Chelmsford camp in tents at least once a year as well as having Sleepovers at the Scout Center.

Scouts
The Scout Section is for young people, usually aged between 10½ and 14 years. A young person can come in to the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 15 years old. The Scout Troop is the third and final Section in the Scout Group. Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of outdoor activities, ranging from climbing and abseiling to hiking and camping, both locally and internationally. It is hoped that some of our Scouts will attend the Essex International Jamboree in 2008.
