Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family, aged between 6 and 8 years old. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.

We have recently opened a second Beaver colony, so we now have one on a Tuesday Evening and one on a Thursday evening

Cub Scouts are the second age group in Scouting, aged between 8 and 10½ years old. Cub activities are a little more adventurous that those of the Beavers and will often involve learning new skills, visiting new places and meeting new people.

We have two Cub Scout packs – Lyons Cubs, who meet on a Wednesday evening and Bishops Cubs who meet on a Friday evening

Scouts are the oldest section in the group, aged between 10½ and 14 years old. During their time at Scouts, young people are given a wealth of opportunities, that give them chance to explore their personality, interests and faiths. They’ll learn independence as well as a huge number of other skills through a programme of regular activities and adventures.

We have two Scout Troops – Lyons Scouts who meet on a Monday evening and Dukes Scouts who meet on a Thursday evening

What's next?

Explorer Scouts are aged 14-18, and are run by Chelmsford and District Scouts rather than us as a group. EvolvE Explorer Scout Unit run on a Friday evening at our Scout Centre and so it’s the unit where most of our Scouts move on to.
